Alleged Harasser Asked: 'However Suppose I Might Be Madeleine?'
A female charged with harassing Kate McCann apparently left her a phone message which asked: "what if I am Madeleine?"
Julia Wandelt, twenty-four, who court testimony revealed has repeatedly declared she was the vanished Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are facing charges accused with harassing Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February this year.
On Monday, the tribunal was told call records and information obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt persistently asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test over 2023 and 2024.
Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a trip in Portugal - is one of the most publicized investigations and remains open.
'I Don't Want Money'
One recorded message, shared in court, recorded Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine used to be, but I believe what I know."
While another instance of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "Imagine there is a slight possibility that I am she? What then? Wouldn't that be significant for you?"
"I do not need money, I possess a existence here in Poland, I only wish to discover," the recording stated.
The panel was informed that via emails, text messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, forwarded early photographs to her phone in a attempt to display a resemblance to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and claimed to have "recollections" from a youth with the McCanns.
An intelligence analyst, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who collated the evidence, informed the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.
